| Naturopathic Medicine in New Jersey - Naturopathic medicine is licensed in the following states and provinces: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oregon, Vermont, Utah, Washington, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. In other jurisdictions, a varying scope of naturopathic modalities may be permitted or protected by court decisions, attorney general opinions, or local customs. Efforts to enact licensing laws are currently underway in several other states including New Jersey. Therefore, Naturopathic doctors (ND's) who have completed 4-year medical programs and obtained a license, in New Jersey do not practice medicine. Rather, ND's treat people and consult in health issues. To support legislative efforts in New Jersey or other states, please contact your state representative or senator. |
